Life on this earth seems to be coming to a close for Ruth Graham, wife of Billy Graham, who is known as America's pastor. She has been suffering from pneumonia lately, and slipped into a coma. Her husband and children are by her side.

Ruth Graham may not have been as visible in public as her husband, but she is well known. She has raised her children to know the Lord. Each of her 2 sons and 3 daughters are in ministry work. And, Ruth is the author of 14 books, including It's My Turn. She and her husband were also recipients of the US Congressional Gold Medal in 1996 for their "outstanding and lasting contributions to morality, racial equality, family,
philanthropy, and religion." (Congressional Gold Medal Recipients)

Rev. Graham will not be the same without his beloved wife of 64 years.

"Ruth is my soul mate and best friend, and I cannot imagine living a single day without her by my side. I am more in love with her today than when we first met over 65 years ago as students at Wheaton College."

Mrs. Graham turned 87 last Sunday. She received several visitors, but slipped into a coma yesterday. Earlier in the week, they decided to withdraw solids and liquids from her feeding tube, okayed by her doctors, because she was slipping in and out of consciousness. Earlier, she had been asking for Coca-Cola, chocolate, and gravy.

Mrs. Graham will buried in Charlotte, NC, at the site of Billy Graham's library, and not in the mountains where she had originally asked to be buried.
