That was SO awesome, Barbara! Yeah, I was a little girl in the 60's, but I have many happy memories of the era.
I loved the 60's! I finished school in 1960, got married to my husband in 1964, and had my first child in 1968. Yes, it was a good time! We didn't have the computers to which to get addicted. But, then, we would never have met some of the people we have met, including you and Lyn,and others. Those that never got to experience the '60's have no idea what they missed. :)
I think my Mandy would faint if she saw that teachers barely made $5,000 a year in 1960. And I vividly remember my Dad burning the autumn leaves in our yard. It's a rotten shame that children today don't get to experience that, especially the smell, because it's something you never forget.
I miss Elvis. I just flat out miss him. Every time I hear his voice it brings a tear to my eye.
I don't know where you found this but it's great!
Barb, we live sort of in the country, and we can still burn our leaves. We just have to be careful not to burn when there is a restriction on fire. But, I think the 60's were wonderful! We loved Elvis, Buddy Holly (who died in 1959) and Patsy Cline who also had her life cut short in 1963 in the plane crash. There were so many things happening in the '60's. But, the worse was the removal of prayer from our schools. :(
