Political Correctness versus Freedom
Am I alone, or do others see Political Correctness destroying the very freedoms our forefathers worked for us to have? It is the nature of Western Civilization to be civilized – respectful of others and concerned with correcting injustices. We don't need Political Correctness to make us think we are not civilized on our own and must have our thoughts and words restricted. The schools have adopted a 'no tolerance' policy. Children are put in detention, suspended, or maybe even expelled for minor reasons that could have been taken care of by school administration. But, due to PC, the children have to bear the results of an over-zealous society that wants to appease everyone and every religion this side of heaven! Also, it's coming to the church you attend: just watch for it.There is a chance your pastor will not be able to preach against things such as homosexuality or gay marriages. Although the Bible teaches against these things, again, the appeasement crowd is hurrying to get it outlawed. It is a an attempt to pacify those who don't believe the way you do at the expense of the principle of truth of the Word.
But Political Correctness remains just what it was intended to be: a sophisticated and dangerous form of censorship and oppression, imposed upon the citizenry with the ultimate goal of manipulating, brainwashing and destroying our society.
There seems to be a growing need of those supporting PC to make laws to restrict almost everything we hold dear. We are suppose to have freedom of speech, but with PC, it has eroded so much that we now have to police our speech so not to offend anyone or chance a lawsuit against us.
It is changing the American society from within, and the citizens of this nation are increasingly censoring themselves and losing their freedom of speech out of fear of Political Correctness repression.
This arbitrary double standard was applied in the name of Political Correctness following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
Political Correctness has become pandemic. If we don't come against it, we will be come a totalitarian country and the government will rule every aspect of our lives. They have invaded them enough already. If we want to continue to be free, our freedom of speech must be preserved. It is slowly slipping away.
That means you go to your local voting places and vote for the candidate you believe will most represent your views, and then hold his hands to the fire (i.e., telephone calls, emails, and faxes which remind him why he was elected!). Right now, we have too many lifers in there who have too much to do with special interests groups and will do anything to get elected.

And the cause of PC is guarded jealousy by the lawyer class of our society, a class which has ensured that it has embedded itself in the very fabric of our lives. They goad on anyone who feels offended.
In the case of offenses, that have not caused any monetary harm, are freely forwarded in a court system that then awards large settlements for what, when it comes right down to it, are hurt feelings (speaking more of the PC control of words used that offend).
I see people using the courts, via lawyers, taking on what civil society used to handle itself, by meeting and talking it out. The lawyers have figured out how to make this activity "commisionable" for their profession, and then an "need" for larger government to set up and maintain the courts, at taxpayer expense.
I connect the element of greed to the situation, and those championing this (identified above) are more concerned about making a buck, than getting society on track.
It's not just you.
I agree with everything you have said. Lots of these cases would never see the light of day if we had less zealous lawyers who only saw money in a case. And, there would be less waiting time for court cases, if they didn't have all the petty cases to muddle through.
No need to blame it on lawyers, they are just using the "laws" that have been passed by the PC political governors and senators we have elected, who would do anything to get in office. People nowadays in America want to be slaves, thank the media, they are to blame for that. Thank god for the internet! There's a sucker born everyday, remember that. Hang in there people.
Jose, all lawyers aren't this way. But there are many out there with no scruples and will do anything for a dollar - even go to a bat for a confirmed killer, knowing all the while he was guilty, but knowing they were going to be paid handsomely.
But, you are right on about people believing the media. Some people can't read between lines and care nothing about finding out the truth for themselves.
that's why it is so very important that we learn about the candidates and go to the polls and vote on election day... and that once elected we keep them in our daily prayers that they will indeed do the job that they were elected to do and do it in the name of the Lord..
It is our responsibility to support the leaders in prayer and by holding them accountable for what they do while in office...
good post Barbara
Thank you, Jim, for serving our country admirably. It upsets me to hear those among us who cut down the military, be he a colonel, admiral,or just an enlistee. Each of you have done your part to keep our country safe and free. And,now we have those in power who are against war (it's been going on forever), say in so many words that they are not for the soldiers - remember Reid's "the war is lost" speech? They don't realize how much they are helping the cause of terrorists when they come out publicly and speak against our military, its ability to operate effectively, and their 'send them home now' tactics. Gives the ammunition that terrorists and insurgents need in order to bide their time until the liberal brings home the troops. Then, they not only invade Iraq, but they will be on our land,as well.Well, we already know they are among us, as we speak. A scarey thought!
