Parched land

Perhaps we all need to pray for rain.......seriously!

  • James 5:17 "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
  • James 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit."
The grass is dying, the flowers look bad, and we are under a 'no burn' restriction for the whole state. My son, who lives only 15 minutes from us, got rain at his house the last of last week. He called to see if we received any rain, which we didn't, and said it poured down there for a good 20 minutes. Oh, that we should be so lucky!

Susan, go ahead! We could use it here! Everything is so dry. My husband inadvertently started a fire in the edge of our woods yesterday. He had stirred the charcoal with a piece of wood, and, not realizing it had a spark on it, tossed it out of the yard - right on dry leaves! Well, sitting and eating, he noticed smoke, only to find a fire started. But, thank the Lord, he got it stopped before it got out of hand.
