Does The Bible Command Us To Be A Member Of A Church?
A Missionary pastor to Mexico, Mitchell Muller, answers the question. He gives six reasons why we should be a part of a local church.
- Being a member of a local church identifies me as genuine believer.
- Being a member of a local church helps me to focus on others.
- Being a member of a local church helps me to develop spiritual muscles.
- Be a member of a local church because it needs me.
- Being a member of a local church helps me to fulfill the mission of the church.
- Being a member of a local church may help keep me from backsliding.
Perhaps the Bible doesn't command us to be a member of a Church, but it does give the following Word:
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
